KNITRO® and MATLAB®

The MathWorks™ has released an interface to KNITRO. Using Optimization Toolbox™, it is possible to call KNITRO from a MATLAB/Simulink® program. Step-by-step installation instructions can be found here or the ktrlink page provided by The MathWorks.

Supported Platforms
   • Linux® (32-bit and 64-bit)
   • MacIntosh® OS X (64-bit)
   • Microsoft® Windows (32-bit and 64-bit)

To use KNITRO with MATLAB for Windows or Linux, you need MATLAB R2008a (or later) with Optimization Toolbox. For 64-bit Mac OS X, you need R2010b or later.

If you already have a copy of the KNITRO dynamic libraries from either the student or professional versions of KNITRO, follow these instructions.

If you do not have a copy of KNITRO, then follow the step-by step instructions.. These instructions detail the steps you need to take from installing KNITRO to connecting the KNITRO libraries to MATLAB.

Specific KNITRO-MATLAB interface documentation can be found on the Matlab Optimization Toolbox webpages.

NOTE: The KNITRO-MATLAB API does not currently allow for use of the MPEC or mixed-integer features in KNITRO.
